Le Camp de Bierre - Point 4 Le rempart

Regardez l’imposante muraille assise sur le rocher. D'une largeur de 8 mètres dans sa base ceinturait tout le Camp et avait fière allure !
L’objectif des habitants était certes de se protéger mais surtout d’impressionner un éventuel assaillant.
Le rempart est constitué de parements externes et internes, en pierres sèches.
L’intérieur était fait d’un blocage organisé de pierres et parfois d’un peu de terre.

Look at the imposing wall sitting on the rock. With a width of 8 meters in its base, it encircled the whole camp and looked great!
The objective of the inhabitants was certainly to protect themselves but above all to impress a possible assailant.
The rampart is made up of external and internal facings, in dry stones.
The interior was made of an organized blocking of stones and sometimes of a little ground.
