Fièrement, elle trône encore aujourd'hui, majestueuse dans son écrin de verdure, à l'emplacement où, aux environs de 650, Fromond, futur évêque de Coutances, avait fondé une un monastère qui sera détruit, laissant place à une Abbaye.
