Camp Patton

Lieu commémoratif en hommage au général Patton et sa IIIe armée US.
Arrivé secrètement le 06 juillet 1944, c'est sous ce verger de pommiers que le général prépara l'opération COBRA - la Percée d'Avranches avant d'être nommé chef de la IIIe armée US.

L'association Souvenir du Général PATTON, fondée en 1988 à l'initiative de Jean-Baptiste TYSON perpétue le souvenir de la présence des troupes armées du général PATTON à NEHOU. Ainsi depuis ce temps, présidents et adhérents se sont succédés avec passion pour garantir la continuité de l'association en collaboration avec Helen Patton.

Arriving secretly on July 06, 1944, it was under this apple orchard that General Patton prepared Operation COBRA - the Avranches Breakthrough - before being appointed head of the US 3rd Army.

The Souvenir du Général PATTON association, founded in 1988 on the initiative of Jean-Baptiste TYSON, perpetuates the memory of the presence of General PATTON's armed troops at NEHOU. Since then, presidents and members have followed one another with passion to ensure the association's continuity, in collaboration with Helen Patton.
