Théâtre culinaire "Apérotomanie"
Description

“Apéro-mania” is a disorder that causes the delusional belief not that one “loves the aperitif” but that one “is loved by it.” A disorder sometimes exacerbated by social media and the wearing of FFP3 masks. A portmanteau coined in 2020, combining the words “apéro” and “erotic” in a playful way, suggesting that an aperitif might be a ritual leading to a possible foray into the erotic.
The aperitif is an integral part of social life, particularly in France. It is a special time that combines social interaction and culinary experiences—a relaxed moment that, beyond its function of “whet the appetite,” is a reimagining of the idea of sharing.
A hybrid of an aperitif and theater, this performance immerses us in a ritual—one that opens the door to the erotic. “Apérotomanie” thus gathers its guests around a large counter where two performers prepare and serve appetizers brimming with flavors and meaning. A tasting of dishes prepared before your eyes, two natural wines made from a rare and forgotten grape variety, and a series ofcaustic presentation of literary texts by carefully selected authors. A delicate moment during which drinking, eating, and conversation will take on a special quality as night falls…
