Arboretum d'Ussy

Berceau de la pépinière forestière française et célèbre depuis le XVIIIe siècle, Ussy a voulu en 1987 honorer l’année de l’environnement par la création, au cœur du village, d’un arboretum. Les pépinières d’Ussy et des environs ont planté près de 80 espèces, genres, variétés et cultivars, ainsi que des arbustes en massifs isolés. Aujourd'hui, 30 ans après, ces arbres ont pris de l’ampleur et se dressent dans leur maturité. Les visiteurs intéressés découvriront cette collection, notamment des arbres originaires des Etats-Unis introduits au XVIIIe et XIXe siècles dans notre région, mais aussi du monde entier.

Ussy, the cradle of the French forest nursery industry and famous since the 18th century, decided in 1987 to honor the Year of the Environment by creating an arboretum in the heart of the village. Nurseries in and around Ussy planted almost 80 species, genera, varieties and cultivars, as well as shrubs in isolated beds. Today, 30 years later, these trees have grown in size and stand in their mature state. Interested visitors will be able to discover this collection, which includes trees from the USA introduced to our region in the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as from all over the world.
