Nouveau film : ""Les 100 jours de la Bataille de Normandie"" Les images projetées sur neuf écrans proviennent d’archives britanniques, canadiennes, allemandes, américaines et françaises. Des deux côtés de la mer, on se préparait à ce choc tant attendu. Puis, malgré une météo défavorable, vint ce matin du 6 juin 44, le premier pas tant espéré de la libération de l’Europe occidentale. Des débarquements sur les 5 plages de la Manche et du Calvados au tragique bombardement du Havre le 12 septembre, la Bataille de Normandie a duré 100 jours. Vivez 20 minutes d’une pure intensité historique ! Afin d’améliorer votre confort, notre espace d’accueil est totalement réaménagé : des cartes, la chronologie et le bilan de la Bataille de Normandie sont présentés. Quelques objets militaires britanniques issus des collections du Mémorial de Caen sont également exposés. Ce film a été réalisé par la société Tempora et par le Mémorial de Caen. Il a été commandé et financé par la Région Normandie. Séance toutes les 30 min à l'heure et à 30 de chaque heure.

The images projected on nine screens stem from British, Canadian, German, American and French archives.

On both sides of the Channel, one was preparing for this longawaited moment. Then, in spite of unfavorable weather conditions, came the morning of June 6, 1944, the fi rst step towards the liberation of Western Europe. From the landings on the 5 beaches of the Manche and Calvados departments to the tragic bombing of
Le Havre on September 12, the Battle of Normandy lasted 100 days. Experience 20 minutes of pure historical intensity!

To improve the visitor experience, our reception area has been fully redesigned: maps, the chronology and the outcome of the Battle of Normandy are now presented. Several British military artifacts from the Caen Mémorial collection are also on display.

Film screened every 30 minutes, on the hour and at the half hour.
